About Me and My Practice
I graduated from University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1994.
From1994-2000, I worked as an RN in psychiatric hospitals, mostly with children and teenagers. I also spent significant time working in an adult psychiatric unit, a substance rehab unit, and a hospital intake office.
I graduated from Arizona State University in 2000 with a Master's Degree in Nursing. I am nationally certified by ANCC as a family mental health nurse practitioner. Since 2000, I have been practicing full time in outpatient office settings. My practice is limited to children, teenagers, and young adults, who are experiencing emotional or behavioral concerns that may require medication.
I can care for most people in this age group who need help, but I recommend that people experiencing serious mental illness (severe autism, history of multiple hospitalizations for psychiatric reasons) see a psychiatrist instead. Psychiatrists have more training than nurse practitioners in dealing with especially complicated and difficult diagnoses.
Generally, I see patients during the following times:
7am-4pm Mondays 7am-6pm Tuesdays
7am-1pm Wednesdays 9am-6pm Thursdays
9am-12noon Fridays
(Please note that I am not in the office Wednesday and Friday afternoons)
After school appointments are in extremely high demand, and are often booked out 1-2 months in advance. They are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.
